Who are their members ?
Our members represent the bulk of the activities of private railway manufacturing industries in France. Numbering roughly fifty companies, they are dispersed within the following four groupings:
GROUPING OF ROLLING STOCK MANUFACTURERS
Trades represented within the « Rolling-Stock and Integrators” grouping :
- Rolling stock designers and builders (intercity, suburban, mass-transit, freight trains)
- Customised services to public or private railway operators (maintenance, training)
- Signalling
GROUPING OF RAILWAY EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS
Trades represented within the « Equipment manufacturers » grouping :
- Electronic engineering
- Mechanics
- Creation and design
- Noise-abatement systems
- Safety
- Inborne information
GROUPING OF RAILWAY ELECTRIC-SIGNALLING INDUSTRIES
Trades represented within the « Signalling » grouping :
- Signalling products (automatons, track circuits, axle counters, points motors…)
- Calibration of these products and their deployment on railway premises
- Systems engineering and integration
- Demonstration of safety of products and systems deployed
- Trafffic monitoring system
INFRASTRUCTURE GROUPING
Trades represented within the « Infrastructure » grouping :
- Manufacture of track components
- Manufacture of fixed equipment
- Development of track monitoring/building/maintenance equipment
- Track building and maintenance
- Track laying and maintenance
These groupings collectively employ over 21 000 people in Metropolitan France.
