Background
The Association in actions
The origins of the Railway Industries Association date back to 1899.
That year, the small world of hitherto-divided industrialists united to launch a federation able to defend their shared interests through tough times.
The federation was superseded on 1 October 1963 by the present Association (FIF), set-up to federate all the railway industrial-sector stakeholders, and tasked with studying, defending and promoting – in France, in Europe and throughout the world – the business, industrial and economic interests of French railway industries.
The Federation’s story for over one century now is one underpinned by shared values, by practical approaches, by a carefully-meshed network. More importantly, it is a story of motivated people who have taken this organization to where it is today through collective endeavour.
